Omar Alfredo Rodriguez-Lopez est né en 1975 à Puerto Rico. Après la machine de guerre post-punk At The Drive-in, l'anecdote dub DeFacto et depuis l'hybride The Mars Volta, ce guitariste gaucher mi-grunge mi-free-jazz sort également des oeuvres sous son propre nom, via son propre label: GSL.
