mclaren merch McLaren is a British sports car company that was founded in 1963 by New Zealander Bruce McLaren and English engineer Teddy Mayer. The company is well known for its involvement in Formula One racing, where it has won eight world championships.
McLaren's first car was the M1A, which was released in 1964. The M1A won the 1965 24 Hours of Le Mans race, but the vehicle was discontinued because it failed to meet safety regulations.
The company's second car, the M6A, was released in 1966 and won four consecutive Can-Am series championships before being replaced by the M8A in 1971.
