SONIC YOUTH annonce un nouvel album pour le printemps 2009.
Apparemment ils ont fait un break de plusieurs mois qui leur a fait le plus grand bien et ils sont à nouveau prêt à partir pour... un dernier album ?

Je ne dis pas ça par provoc mais ils avoisinent les 55 ans, j'espère qu'ils sauront s'arrêter à temps, en espérant que cela se fasse le plus tard possible

Tant qu'ils feront de bons albums, je vois pas l'intérêt d'arrêter

Speaking to NME after a recent New York show, Thurston Moore had the following to say about the band's future prospects: "We've been taking a nice sort of break, which is good. I've been actually able to escape into the basement. We're going to Australia next week for about two weeks then we'll come back and start writing."



The (presumptive) album, which would be Sonic Youth's sixteenth LP and the follow-up to 2006's Rather Ripped, has been "tentatively penciled in" for an "early 2009" release.

J'avais été un peu déçu par "rather ripped" mais avec le temps j'apprécie vraiment ce disque. Quant à leur prestations scéniques, elles tiennent toujours la route... Pas de raison d'arreter l'aventure... De toute façon, un monde sans Sonic Youth, c'est nul je pense!!!!

Quand "a thousand leaves" est sortit, ils avaient dit qu'ils arrêteraient à 1000 albums... à lire leur planning 2008 ils pourraient y être bientôt !

Même si j'ai jamais été un fou amoureux du groupe (je préfère par exemple leurs pères spirituels rhys chattham ou glenn branca), j'apprécie leur travail pour les fans ainsi que la densité de leur oeuvre. en même tremps leur titre que je préfère est little trouble girl (suivi d'incinerate)
