Rayon DVD :
We're getting together the first official Sonic Youth DVDs which will be jammed with anything/everything that needs to be jammed onto DVD. More info on these as they get closer but a full scale Geffen-era video retrospective will be released including the full on GOO video reel w/ extras. Commentary by a number of people from Kathleen Hannah to Richard Kern will be there for personal edification. Dave Markey, director of 1991: THE YEAR PUNK BROKE, has prepared an awesome 2-DVD set of that film with tons of unseen footage of us, Nirvana and others w/ commentary by Thurston and Dave. This one may have to wait for legal issues with various aspects of the film to be straightened out though.
Rayon réédition :
GOO will see the reissue light in much the same way DIRTY did - a deluxe 2CD/4 LP edition with extensive liner notes (again, by Byron Coley) as well as GOO-era arcana. Included in this package will be B-sides, oddities and the fabulous 8-track GOO demos remixed into hot sonic slash.
Rayon nouvel album :
Sonic Youth is in huddle formation writing, rehearsing (practicing, whatever) songs for new CD/LP release hopefully ready to deliver to the wizards at Geffen/Universal for a late spring/early summer 2004 launch.
Rayon "fan hardcore de SY qui en ont pas encore assez" :
We're also still planning on releasing SYR LPs. One of the series will include a selection from the live gig at All Tomorrows Parties in the UK April 2001 where we played "J'Accuse Ted Hughes" - a twenty minute dronefuck piece that pissed off every Guinness swilling journalist awake at the time. Side two is an unheard studio session. Hopefully we'll someday release the sessions we did with Brigitte Fontaine and Areski in Paris in early 2001. Look to this space for more info at a later date.

Merci pour les infos, vraiment merci. J'attend vraiment avec impatience "the year punk broke"... Il parait qu'il y aussi du nirvana, du dinosaur jr et tout ça, ça a l'air terrible ! L'ultime DVD !

Qqs infos concernant le prochain album de SONIC YOUTH sont tombées par ci par là .... Consultez les news du site
Je précise juste dans ce forum ici, que des rumeurs persistantes (et entre autre sur le site officiel du groupe) voudraient que ce nouvel album NE SOIT PAS DU TOUT le 3ème volet de la trilogie new-yorkaise du groupe, comme on aurait pu le croire après les 2 premiers volets "NYC,Ghosts & Flowers", et "Murray Street". 
Il semblerait que le groupe ait affirmé que cette trilogie supposée était une invention journalistique .... mais bon, rumeurs rumeurs
