J'ouvre un nouveau topic puisqu'on sait désormais que l'album s'intitulera (normalement) "Rapture" ou "Do You Believe The Rapture ?".
Des infos donc sur cet album attendu pour Juin :
As previously reported, SY are presently hard at work on the follow-up to 2004's Sonic Nurse. Moore disclosed to CMJ.com recently that the band have settled on the title [Do You Believe in Rapture?], with a tentative June release date.
"This record is just a far more straight up rock and roll album for us," he said. "I think the last few albums we've done, especially with Jim O'Rourke in the band, were much more complex just because there was another musical element into the band. The music [had] sort of a darker, twisted, complex quality to it."
Moore continued, "Kim is back to rocking the bass, I'm singing like six songs, she's singing on five, Lee is singing on one, which is sort of a classic kind of set up for us. The songs are real straight up. I wanted to write songs that were going to be straight forward enough for everybody to plug into immediately."
"[Rapture is] definitely a super song record. It's rockers and ballads."

Une vidéo sur le site officiel, je crois que c'est une des nouvelles chansons de Rapture (pas sur...), ça s'apelle "Sleeping around", en tout cas ça redevient plus rock!!! Ca promet en concert, vivement cet été...

Bon c'est une version sans lee ( qui est quand même le vrai genie du groupe non ??) qui peut apporter beaucoup.... mais c'est vrai que la ligne melodique est pas tip top.. il y avait un autre titre joué par cette formule light du groupe, il y a quelques mois sur le site d' ecstatic peace, dans l'esprit du titre "psychic heart" de thurston moore, beaucoup plus excitant que ce titre certes rock , mais pas enorme...

Ben moi je le trouve plutôt pas mal ce morceau, c'est assez répétitif mais sans tomber dans l'ennui, faut voir ce que ça donne en studio...

"The band has spent the first days of February mixing songs from the upcoming album with engineer John Agnello at Sear Sound and recording overdubs with engineer Aaron Mullan at the band's own studio on Murray st. Some of the first songs mixed include 'Incinerate', 'Pink Steam', 'Do You Believe in Rapture?' and 'What a Waste'.
Basic tracks were recorded with engineer TJ Doherty at legendary Sear Sound Studio. Sear Sound has been the site of recording previous SY albums 'Sister' and 'Experimental Jet Set, Trash and No Star', and Thurston's 'Psychic Hearts'. The new record is to be released late Spring/early Summer 2006."
Pas grand chose de nouveau, sauf deux nouveaux titres, Incinerate et What a Waste...

Moi, j'aime bien ! Certe il manque Lee, et Lee c'est 50% de SY à lui seul, mais c'est assez Punky et j'attend d'entendre celà plus épuré...

C'est sur que c'est pas "I love you golden blue", mais ça fait du bien, ça défoule et m'est avis que sur scène ça va cartonner! 
Rappelez vous "She's not alone", c'était pas forcement ce qu'il y avait de plus construit non plus, pourtant qu'est ce que c'est bon...

Personnellement je viens de récupérer une version live du morceau "Do You Believe In Rapture", je dois dire que j'accroche complètement

Si ça vous intéresse j'ai actuellement sur mon PC un live de 2005 contenant 4 morceaux ( normalement 5 mais je n'ai pas le quatrième 
) que je pense provenant du prochain album, en tout cas je ne reconnais rien de ocnnu...

Voilà pour vous, c'est le live complet... Il s'agit en fait d'un concert acoustique de Thurston, il a joué 7 morceaux dont 4 nouveaux, mais je n'en connaissais en fait aucun...

SONIC YOUTH NEW LP "RATHER RIPPED" DUE FOR FOR JUNE 2006 RELEASE
Sonic Youth are putting the finishing touches on their upcoming new record. Basic tracks were recorded with engineer TJ Doherty at legendary Sear Sound Studio. Sear Sound has been the site of recording previous SY albums 'Sister' and 'Experimental Jet Set, Trash and No Star', and Thurston's 'Psychic Hearts'. Overdubs were recorded with TJ at Sear Sound as well as with engineer Aaron Mullan at the band's own studio on Murray St. - A few vocal overdubs were even done at J Mascis' in house studio in Amherst, MA. with engineer John Agnello. The band spent the most of February mixing with John Agnello at Sear Sound and later at Water Music in Hoboken, NJ. Song titles are: Incinerate, The Neutral, What a Waste, Do You Believe in Rapture?, Lights Out, Rats, Or, Pink Steam, Turquoise Boy, Sleepin Around, Jagged Brain, and Reena.
Geffen Records will issue the CD edition while the band's own Goofin' Records will release the vinyl edition of the new album.
